A few generations down the road, I'd bet that National Selfie Day will seem like a strange, outdated thing from a past culture. Like dance cards or cassette tapes.
"God, they were such a self-centered culture," they'll scoff.
"Oh I don't know," another will respond. "They were so overwhelmed with these new technologies back then. Can you imagine being the first people to have the Internet. It wasn't like now. They didn't know what to do with it yet."
"I suppose," they'll sigh. "But really, why so many pictures of themselves? Why not a picture of whatever was in front of them?"
